It seems like the more bizarre the game is, the more fun it seems to be. And in this case this game 110% applies. Clustertruck is a weird first-person-perspective jumpathon game where your main goal is to jump from truck to truck through various obstacles with an insane amount of physics thrown in there.
Depending on the level you’re on sometimes you’ll see rocks or boulders thrown at you, make the trucks flip in the air and you must jump off of these trucks without touching the obstacle itself. The more levels I started to plow through the more insane the levels get.
You can do air tricks to, so for instance if you catch air by a flying truck in the air, the longer you stay in the air the more points you get. The speed and execution of your style of play when finishing a level will wield amazing results, thus gaining even more points. With these points you can spend it on abilities, for an example you can buy jetpacks, double-jumps and dashes, ect.
The game is downright addicting. And with the leaderboard options just kinda gets you to try to beat your own high score even more. With the graphics, it was easy on the eyes. I guess my own minor complaint the music could have been better, but tolerable.
If you’re a streamer there seems to be some twitch integration support. If you’re lucky, you may get a bored developer to troll you.
Last but not least for replayability enthusiast there’s also map editor mode and Steam Workshop support that offers plenty of user-created maps which offers a nice touch to this game.
Clustertruck with given to me by the developers for reviewing purposes.
Overall: A game filled with trucks and you use them as moving platforms to go straight to the end as fast as you can while avoiding hazards and obstacles in your way. With leaderboards, map editor, and Steam workshop there’s plenty of content to be had. A must buy.
